IBM Encouraging Its Workers to Move Abroad
This might be a first, to my knowledge. Typically corporations want to workers for the least amount possible and under working conditions that create the most profit, and that typically entails outsourcing. IBM, however, is providing the chance for "satisfactory" workers to move overseas, though IBM has not elaborated whether this means following local labor laws and customs. As the economy worsens, more people may be desperate enough to move overseas. I recall reading about some families in the Great Depression who would move if they could find rent that was event a dollar cheaper. It is a different matter to move out of one's own native country, however (link).
